Raising funds and awareness for mental health in the music community

Each year around October (mental health awareness month), Sydney-based electronic music platform 

 aims to improve mental health in the music community through 

. Over the years they have raised over $50,000AUD for mental health charities with their fundraising raves and reached thousands through their online content raising awareness of mental health issues.

Through Music on my Mind we have donated to charities such as Support Act, Beyond Blue, Black Dog Institute & ReachOut, received grants from City of Sydney, Way Ahead and sponsorship from Ticketswap, Audio-Technica and more.

MUSIC ON MY MIND

With the pandemic taking hold in 2020 and music events banned, we teamed up with some of Sydney's best house & techno crews for a quality livestream fundraiser from Club 77 on World Mental Health Day to raise money for Support Act - the mental health charity for music industry professionals facing mental health problems.

Music On My Mind 2020

With the help of grants from City of Sydney and Way Ahead, we raised a total of $18,750AUD for mental health charities Support Act and ReachOut. Big thanks to our event partners Ticketswap, Moshtix, Keep Sydney Open, Electronic music conference, Audio technica and all of Sydney's electronic music community for their support.

For our charity rave, we teamed up with Subsonic Music, S.A.S.H, Blueprint and WeLove for our monster dress-up fundraising rave at Oxford Art Factory, featuring B2B sets from some of Sydney’s biggest DJs.

Throughout October 2019, we also raised awareness of mental health issues through our music related content. Here's one of our interviews with techno legend Oliver Huntemann:

Music On My Mind 2019

In 2018, with a grant from City of Sydney and the support of Sydney's electronic music industry, we raised a total of $18,750 for mental health charities Support Act, beyondblue and Black Dog Institute through our fundraising rave and online appeal. Our social media campaign on mental health also reached over 200,000 people, helping to raise awareness.

Music On My Mind 2018

In 2021, with music events banned due to the pandemic, psychiatrist and Music on my Mind / Rave Reviewz founder Doc Kamran released 

 - a classic house groover produced by Matthew Play with tips from Doc Kamran on how to lift your mood when you’re down. Meanwhile upbeat electronica offering 

with The Dolls Are Good on production duties goes deep into how we can overcome the ‘inner critic’ - the internal voice that holds us all back.

Our online content campaign also featured videos on managing your mental health through lockdown, made in collaboration with mental health charity Support Act. You can watch one here: 

Music on my Mind 2021

A SOLD OUT house & techno extravaganza went down at brand new venue Carousel delivered by some of Sydney’s finest selectors. A proportion of all profits went to Support Act, the mental health charity for music industry professionals. We also launched our very own Music on my Mind T-shirts!

Music on my Mind 2023

With pandemic restrictions in the rear-view mirror, Rave Reviewz teamed up with some of Sydney's biggest electronic music brands for a dress-up rave for mental health on Sat Oct 22nd at The Lansdowne Hotel.

Thanks to a generous grant from City of Sydney, ravers enjoyed a musical journey spanning classic, progressive, minimal, melodic house & techno delivered by a monster line-up of heavyweight Sydney DJs. A proportion of all profits went to 

, the mental health charity for music industry professionals.
